On April 30, 2019, I retired as the General Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) In Kentucky. I live in Nonesuch, Kentucky with my spouse, Nora, our two golden retrievers, Sawyer and Deacon, and nine chickens. We have four adult children, a son-in-law, three beautiful granddaughters and one handsome grandson who live in the greater Lexington, KY area. In April of 2019, I accepted a call to be the part-time Director of Disciples Men for Disciples Home Missions of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the US and Canada. On June 16th, I started as the interim minister at Hodgenville Christian Church in Hodgenville, KY. Now I am blessed to serve as their pastor. The tragic events of 9/11 was one of those times of disorientation for us as individuals, for us as …

The passage below follows Saul's encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus. After being told by Jesus to get up and go on to Damascus and await further instructions, Saul obeyed the Lord. In light of the deeply disturbing events we witnessed yesterday, these familiar words seemed an appropriate place to turn. Psalm 23 "1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; 3 he restores my soul. He leads me in …
