Constancy of God’s Presence

Psalm 63:5-8

“5 My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips
6 when I think of you on my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.”  NRSV

It would seem the psalmist has received a great blessing at the hand of God, maybe victory in battle. For the psalmist, God is a constant presence. There may be no better imagery to describe the constancy of God in our lives than that of us “living in the shadow of God’s wings.” Such assurance should cause all of us to sing for joy!

Be a blessing to someone today!
