“When the presence of God emerges from our inmost being into our faculties, whether we walk down the street or drink a cup of soup, divine life is pouring into the world.”
― Thomas Keating, Open Mind, Open Heart: The Contemplative Dimension of the Gospel
We should sit with this beautiful and profound statement for a little while. It is so true. When we touch the inner light, the inner flame, the inner Spirit of God that dwells within us, we suddenly become light, warmth, and spiritual energy to the world around us. We become sowers of seeds of hope where hope is in short supply.
My prayer is that we continue to be more intentional about letting God’s presence within us emerge, come into “our faculties” so that the divine life can pour out into our world more fully through us.
